In a remarkable turn of events, Mary-Anne's father William (Bill) Pearce, and co-abusers Laurence Pearce & Alan Dodson were finally brought to justice for their crimes. The culmination of a three year legal process was documented by veteran current affairs producer, Patrick Emmett, and aired on the ABC's Stateline program in South Australia.
Stateline followed up the original story when one of the convicted abusers, who admitted his guilt, was subsequently released from gaol on appeal.
